In 2015, Honda decided its SUV and crossover lineup needed a major refresh. Included in that decision was the new CR-V design, which received upgrades including a new powertrain, significantly enhanced exterior and interior styling and a long list of new standard and available features.
“Honda wins the Best SUV Brand award on the strength of its entire SUV lineup,” said Jamie Page Deaton, Managing Editor, U.S. News Best Cars. “The HR-V, CR-V and Pilot are all consistently ranked at the top of their respective classes, as automotive journalists are impressed with the utility, comfort and family-friendly features that all three offer. No matter what class SUV shoppers are searching in, Honda has a model worth considering.”
While the entire Honda SUV and crossover lineup was honored, perhaps no model represents the recognition more than CR-V, which is on track to earn the title of America’s best-selling SUV for the 4th consecutive year.
“This recognition of Honda as the Best SUV Brand validates our effort to produce world-class SUVs to meet the needs and desires of families of any size,” said Jeff Conrad, Senior Vice President and General Manager, Honda Division. “Honda is committed to providing fuel efficient, safe and fun products with the quality and reliability to meet the needs of our discerning customers.”
Owners of the industry-leading CR-V know that to be America’s best selling SUV, you have to bring you’re A-game. Standard and available exterior features include a power tailgate, one-touch power moon roof, smart entry and side mirrors with integrated turn indicator. Under the hood, Honda built the CR-V with a 2.4-liter direct-injection engine, available real time AWD, hill start assist and a continuously variable transmission.
On the inside, CR-V features leather-trimmed interior, 10-way power driver’s seat, a spacious center console and push button start. Honda also made sure to include modern technology features to match, including a 7-inch display audio touch screen, steering wheel-mounted controls and Bluetooth HandsFreeLink capability.
In the safety department, CR-V comes with Honda Sensing, which includes a lane departure warning system, forward collision warning system, and a collision mitigation braking system.
"Consumers have made the CR-V America's best-selling SUV for good reason, and this top government safety rating just adds one more appealing and class-leading attribute," said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president and general manager of the Honda Division. "Honda is committed to offering vehicles that deliver advanced safety, fun-to-drive performance and connectivity, with top fuel economy ratings. CR-V is that kind of vehicle.”
